The Registration Department is mandated to register vessels that re 10m and above including local trade vessels and international vessels. The department is responsible for:

Type of Seychelles Ship Registration

    • For all vessel types except Yachts trading only in the Seychelles waters.
  • International Yacht Vessels
    • Only for Yachts trading in unlimited trading areas.
  • International Vessels
    • For all types of vessels except Yachts trading in unlimited trading areas.
  • Parallel Registration
    • Vessel to be registered under the flag of one country while still maintaining its registration in another country.
  • Provisional Registration
    • It is a temporary form of registration that allows a vessel to be recognized under a specific flag while the owner completes the necessary documentation and formalities for permanent registration. This type of registration serves as an interim solution, enabling the vessel to operate under the flag of the registering country for a limited period.
